

PROGRAM COORDINATOR
The Mississippi Mills Youth Centre Program Coordinator role is a permanent, 35 hour/week position. Hours may be subject to change if needed. Occasional evening and weekend work hours required. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Managing Director.
Responsibilities:
- Planning program activities and curriculum including weekly programming, field trips, workshops, community initiatives and special events
- Delivering programs and facilitating educational and developmental activities with youth ages 10-18, both online and in-person, using diverse multi-media approaches
- Creating program logic models and evaluation plans in conjunction with Managing Director
- Collecting data, contributing to program evaluation and completing reports
- Collaborating productively and effectively with Youth Workers and Summer Camp Leaders
- Providing written summary reports monthly to Managing Director and Board of Directors
- Supporting community engagement and fundraising initiatives of the centre
- Managing program registration and promotion
- Managing program budget and inventory of supplies/materials
- Modelling the values and mission of the centre in all interactions with youth, their families, the community and staff colleagues while engaging with others in a professional and friendly manner
- Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for youth, staff, and volunteers by adhering to policies, procedures and good common sense as well as confidentiality protocols.
- Preparing communications materials for our social media, website and press outlets and support the Managing Director and Board in the overall communications plan
- Assisting in maintaining the youth centre in a clean and organized state, inside and outside
- Other duties assigned by the Managing Director as mutually discussed
Education/Expertise/Experience
- College diploma or university degree in a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working for a non-profit or volunteer organization with a solid background in delivering programming and managing a budget
- Previous work or volunteer experience with youth aged 10-18
- Working knowledge of website maintenance and social media i.e. Facebook, Youtube
- Proficiency in the use of computers, programs, and software
- Valid vulnerable persons police security clearance.
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong sense of values, teamwork and work ethic and excellent communication skills

Summer Camp Leader: Student Position
The Summer Camp Leader role is a temporary full time position from June 28th to September 4th at 40 hours/week. Camp Leaders may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends. The Summer Camp Leaders report directly to the Program Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Working with Youth Worker, Senior Youth Worker and Program Coordinator to facilitate activities during weekly programming, field trips, workshops, community initiatives and special events
- Providing feedback and reports to Program Coordinator in a timely manner about any issues or concerns with Summer Camp and/or participants and assist with conflict resolution amongst day-campers
- Model the values and mission of the centre in all interactions with youth, their families and the community, staff colleagues and engage with others in a professional and friendly manner. Strive to encourage and inspire youth.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for youth, staff, and volunteers by adhering to policies, procedures and good common sense as well as confidentiality protocols.
- Assist in maintaining the youth centre in a clean and organized state, inside and outside
- Organizing groups and instructing campers, gathering supplies, materials and equipment for activities
- Assisting with a range of administrative duties and other duties assigned by the Managing Director or Program Coordinator as mutually discussed
Education/Expertise/Experience
- Previous work or volunteer experience with youth aged 10-18
- Valid vulnerable persons police security clearance.
- Flexibility to respond to changing situations/circumstances required for effective program delivery
- Positive attitude, sense of humour, willingness to learn, strong sense of values, teamwork and work ethic and excellent communication skills
